Plot Synopsis: Ms. Marvel (2006) #1
Premiere issue. Once Air Force jet pilot Carol Danvers lived for the thrill of adventure, flying high above the clouds in some of the military's top aircraft. But when exposure to a powerful Kree machine changed her genetic code and gave her the powers of flight, strength and near invulnerability, Carol's life was forever changed. Throughout her career as an Avenger, Ms. Marvel has been called Binary and Warbird but no identity has quite fit her ideal of what being a super-hero should be.

A growing realization that she's not being all she can be convinces Ms. Marvel she needs to do more than just wait around for calls of help. She goes on patrol, actively looking for good deeds to perform. Her first week out is filled with action. She easily takes out the Stilt Man and not long after that finds herself in pursuit of a spaceship heading toward America's Heartland. But is Ms. Marvel ready to take on the Brood? "Best of the Best" is written by Brian Reed with art by Roberto de la Torre and Jimmy Palmiotti.
