Plot Synopsis: Justice League of America (2006) #12
Cover by Alex Ross. Art by Ed Benes and Eric Wight. Writer Brad Meltzer wraps up his run on DC's premier super-hero book with a tribute to Gardner Fox and the other creators of the JLA. Forged in battle against intergalactic threats, the Justice League of America chose its name to reflect its near-military status, in contrast to the friendlier Justice Society of America that preceded it. But the group has always formed close friendships and tried to keep no secrets from each other, with sporadic success over the years.

As members of the current team take their turn on "Monitor Duty" (the least interesting chore of a JLA-er), original team members Aquaman and Martian Manhunter review their profiles and potential. Red Tornado, Vixen, Hawkgirl, Red Arrow, Black Canary, Black Lighting and Geo-Force are in the newest line-up for the League and the future looks bright. But hidden agendas and conflicts bubble below the surface and the JLA's enemies are ever in the wings, waiting to exploit a moment of weakness!
