CHAMBER OF CHILLS (1972) (#1-25) (MARVEL) #23 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Chamber of Chills (1972) #23
Re-printing some of the weirdest and wildest tales of Marvel's 1950s horror period. First, a believer in ghosts, goblins and things that go bump in the night tries to convince his skeptical friend he's right by challenging him to spend one night in a house "Where Lurks the Ghost!" (written by Stan Lee and drawn by Steve Ditko, originally presented in Tales to Astonish #25). Then, the age-old war between vampires and werewolves plays out in bloody detail in "Bat's Tale," written by Lee and drawn by Russ Heath (originally presented in Marvel Tales #113). This story proves undead vampires live in fear of nothing, except the Beast-Man!

Then, two hoodlums rob a restaurant and have to hide from the police after shooting an innocent bystander. Unfortunately, the only place available is the cadaver room of the county morgue. Will they dwell among the dead to remain among the living? "The Men in the Morgue" is drawn by Gene Colan and originally appeared in Adventures into Terror #28. Finally, learn the terrifying origin of the "Gorilla Man," in a story drawn by Robert Q. Sale and originally presented in Mens Adventure #26. Ken Hale gave up his job, his marriage and everything he owned to hunt the beast man that tormented him in his dreams ... only to find the animal was within himself. (Comic fans note the Gorilla Man was one of the 1950s Avengers in the imaginary What If? #9).
